Fragile World Presents Whiteboard

After the finacial collapse of 2008 and 2009, before Arab Spring and populist change in North Africa, before the tsunami hit Fukushima, before the Occupy movement, I started making a documentary film. Armed with a simple dry erase white board, we visited interesting places and events and asked people on the street about an interest in taking a stand for something or sending a message to the world.   If they wanted they could write whatever they wanted on the whiteboard. Then we simply asked them why? I wanted to see the non-decision makers of the world and ask them if they wanted to be an activist for a moment. This is an adventure of a human experience to places of great beauty covering issues of great importance. The film learns as it goes trying to offer up its own statement in the end. It asks what it would be like to look at people of different cultures and appearance all doing the same activity. It asks about the effect of place and culture on the substance of the whiteboard messages. Then, it looks to the important issues that were written.
